Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi Note 11 SE in India, along with its pricing and release date. Surprisingly, Xiaomi has rebadged the Redmi Note 10S, with the company even pre-installing MIUI 12.5 and Android 11 instead of MIUI 13. Still, the new Redmi Note 11 SE should be more powerful than the model available in China, which has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 11 SE in India, over three months after the smartphone's debut in China. However, one look at the former reveals that it is nothing like the Redmi Note 11 SE that Xiaomi sells in China. Instead, it appears that Xiaomi has re-branded the Redmi Note 10S, a smartphone that arrived in March 2021. Hence, the new Redmi Note 11 SE lacks the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset powering the original model.

Instead, the latest Redmi Note 11 SE features the MediaTek Helio G95, a 12 nm chipset that has 8 CPU cores like the MediaTek Dimensity 700. According to our database, the latter offers 3% less performance than the latter, despite being a newer chipset based on a narrower node. Hence, both models should perform about as well as each other in most cases, with the Indian variant edging its Chinese sibling in some tasks. The new Redmi Note 11 SE features up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage too, matching the Redmi Note 10S and the original Redmi Note 11 SE.

Elsewhere, the new Redmi Note 11 SE is a carbon copy of the Redmi Note 10S. As such, the Redmi Note 11 SE has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display that outputs at 1080p and 60 Hz, a 64 MP primary camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33 W wired charging. For some reason, Xiaomi has removed the 33 W power adapter with the Redmi Note 11 SE but has kept the handset's price the same as the Redmi Note 10S. Correspondingly, the Redmi Note 11 SE starts at INR 14,999 (~US$190). The handset will be orderable from August 31 in India, where it will be available in Bifrost Blue, Cosmic White, Space Black and Thunder Purple colourways.

It is worth noting that Flipkart will offer the handset from INR 13,499 (~US$170), but only as part of its early bird sales period. Purportedly, the retailer will sell the Redmi Note 11 SE for INR 16,999 (~US$213) after the 20% reduction ends, which seems unlikely. More details about the Redmi Note 11 SE's launch can be found on Flipkart and Xiaomi's websites. Inexplicably, all SKUs ship with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11, not MIUI 13 based on Android 12 or Android 13.
