Xiaomi is not releasing the Redmi Note 14 series internationally until next month, despite having presented the Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 Pro and Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus in China a few months ago. For reference, the trio will land in India on December 9, full details of which we have covered separately.
In the meantime, Xiaomi plans to introduce its first Redmi K80-branded smartphones, again as Chinese exclusives initially. Incidentally, at least the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro will debut during an in-person launch event with other devices like the Redmi Buds 6 Pro and Redmi Watch 5. While Xiaomi has not confirmed anything globally just yet, it continues to tease the Redmi K80 series on Chinese social media.
For instance, it recently outlined that the Redmi K80 Pro will feature a 2K display, which also appears to have relatively thin bezels and a flat finish. As usual, Xiaomi has installed a small hole punch for a single front-facing camera. Reportedly, this panel will be particularly power efficient too, which should help maximise battery life.
To that end, Xiaomi has now confirmed that the Redmi K80 Pro will ship with a 6,000 mAh battery capacity, presumably using silicon-carbon (Si/C) technology rather than the less energy-dense lithium-ion (Li-ion). Moreover, the Redmi K80 Pro will be capable of recharging this large battery at 50 W wirelessly or at 120 W via a wired connection. The same image shows that the device contains three rear-facing cameras too. Although details about these remain unknown for now, we suspect Xiaomi will provide a few insights into them between now and when the Redmi K80 Pro officially arrives on November 27.
