Xiaomi is not ready to reveal full details about the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition just yet. Instead, it has teased that the device will join the Redmi K Pad during a simultaneous release before the end of the month. Also referred to as the Redmi K80 Ultra, the device has already been spotted on Geekbench with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset and 16 GB of RAM.
Xiaomi has now confirmed as much in another round of official teasers. According to the company, the Dimensity 9400+ and an in-house D2 display chip allow the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition to hit 3.24 million in AnTuTu V10. If this score can be replicated by retail units, then it would see the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition outperform the median scores that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400-powered devices have achieved in our tests.
Likewise, 3.24 million would break AnTuTu's official Android rankings. At the time of writing, the RedMagic 10S Pro Plus (curr. $899 on Amazon) sits atop this leaderboard with a score of roughly 2.95 million. In other words, Xiaomi suggests that the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition enjoys a 10% performance advantage over its rivals.
Incidentally, Xiaomi has showcased the device in a new set of promotional images. Embedded throughout, the images show the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition in three colour options, including one that it calls 'Tsukiiwa White'. From these, we can glean that the device features a 50 MP primary camera with OIS, which Xiaomi will complement with a 6.83-inch display surrounded by minimal bezels.
