Xiaomi has finally acknowledged that a new Poco F smartphone is on the horizon. For the time being, the company is keeping its teasers rather cryptic. However, a leaker claims to have received images of at least one variant ahead of schedule.
Embedded above and below, the images show the rear of a device with two rear-facing cameras arranged vertically, including a 50 MP primary sensor. A Qualcomm Snapdragon logo can also be seen, which has led the likes of Abhishek Yadav to conclude that we are looking at the back of the forthcoming Poco F7.
Seemingly a reworked Redmi Turbo 4 Pro for global audiences, the device looks far more ostentatious than a regular Poco F smartphone, such as last year’s Poco F6 or this year’s Poco F7 Pro (curr. $599 on Amazon). As a result, we suspect that Yadav has actually provided a first look at a Poco F7 Special Edition of some kind.
Based on past releases, this could take the form of a movie franchise tie-in, such as the Poco F6 Deadpool Special Edition. Alternatively, Xiaomi may have chosen to partner with an automotive brand, as Realme recently did with Aston Martin. Regardless, all Poco F7 variants should feature the same underlying hardware like a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a 6.83-inch AMOLED display and a 6,500 mAh battery.
