Xiaomi has indeed kept the basics strong in this device. But the phone might miss on a few points (for keen techophiles) in the highly competitive mid-range smartphone segment. We can't blame it, though, can we? That’s the case with most of the phones these days.

And that’s a great shame, to be honest. Everything else aside, I think that if the Mi A3 had a Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, we’d be talking about a seriously good mid-range smartphone. With a Php 11,990 price tag, the Mi A3 is more affordable than the Mi A2 at launch and offers more features as well. Aside from a processor bump, you get an AMOLED display, triple rear cameras, a decent (albeit slightly slow) in-display fingerprint scanner, a bigger battery, a microSD card slot, and a headphone jack. While people may criticize the display resolution downgrade on the Mi A3, it is a small compromise to pay for all the features it has to offer at a sub-Php 12k price. The only other phone that can compete against the Mi A3’s is Xiaomi’s own Redmi Note 7: at Php 11,290 for the 4GB/128GB variant, you get a dual rear camera setup, a conventional fingerprint scanner, and an older Snapdragon 660 processor in exchange for a bigger 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS display.

But if you are okay with a custom UI and can spend a little more, you can go for the Redmi Note 7 Pro which would also be good buy.

Model: The Xiaomi Mi A3 is a rather familiar-looking smartphone so to say in terms of design but it is certainly rather unique in its very own way. With Xiaomi as an expanding brand forging its way to the top of the world amidst intense competition, it is very refreshing to see that yet another release from the China-based electronics company does not go unappreciated by loyal fans and differing audiences alike. This time, however, Xiaomi as a brand has stepped up on its game on the concerns of catering a better model of budget-friendly smartphone without cutting back on overall quality.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 prides itself with its triple MP camera setup. This triple-lens camera setup consists of a combination of a 48 MP lens, a 8 MP lens, and a 2 MP lens, which respectively serves a unique purpose in the aspect of photography. To further elaborate and detailing on this matter, it is worth pointing out that the primary camera of choice originates from the trustworthy Sony brand, which entails to the very fact that it is capable of capturing fantastic details on camera. The Sony 48 MP sensor incorporated within the primary camera consists of a solid combination of 6 pieces of lens and an f/1.79 aperture. The triple MP camera setup of the Xiaomi Mi A3 also comes with a 118 degree ultra-wide angle lens for depth control, which works in perfect tandem with a depth sensor, which further assists in the task.

The Xiaomi Mi A3’s camera setup also comes with a stunning 32 MP AI front camera, which is meticulously programmed to identify the sharpness and the vibrancy of the user’s facial visage in order to produce the most visually appealing selfie with every single snap. To top that off, the 32 MP AI front camera in question comes with a multiple of features such as AI Beautify and AI Portrait Mode, which are guaranteed to enhance the quality and performance of the user’s personal photography experience with the Xiaomi Mi A3. In addition, the performance of the Xiaomi Mi A3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 AIE processor. This particular processor model is created through an 11 nanometer process technology which promotes lower power consumption that subsequently leads to longer battery life. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 AIE also enables the Xiaomi Mi A3 to achieve an overall performance rate clocking at 2 GHz with the help of four Kryo 260 Silver high-efficiency cores, which operate alongside with four other Kryo 260 Gold cores. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 is suitable for a smartphone model such as the likes of Xiaomi Mi A3 as it can enable the device to achieve the optimal performance.
