Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G lands with specifications to take on the Nothing Phone (1)
Xiaomi has finally revealed the 12 Lite, albeit only in a few markets initially. As expected, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G relies on the Snapdragon 778G platform, mirroring the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. For some reason, there appears to be some confusion about whether the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G utilises the Snapdragon 778G or the Snapdragon 778G+, with the latter also set for the Nothing Phone (1). The differences between the Snapdragon 778G and Snapdragon 778G+ are minimal though, as their names suggest.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G has a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification. Moreover, the device will have 108 MP, 8 MP and 2 MP rear-facing cameras, plus a 32 MP front-facing sensor. Separately, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G has a 4,300 mAh battery with 67 W fast charging and weighs 173 g.
Unsurprisingly, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will be available with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Ultimately, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G could be a fierce competitor to the Nothing Phone (1). Pricing in most markets has not leaked yet, although the smartphone will cost AZN 999 (~US$590) in Azerbaijan. Presumably, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will retail for about as much as the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE with 8 GB of RAM, which launched for €399.90.
