Xiaomi 12 Pro returns with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset refresh
Xiaomi has re-launched the 12 Pro on the same day that it presented the Xiaomi 12S series. While the Xiaomi 12S series has received the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, the new Xiaomi 12 Pro relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+, another 4 nm chipset that appears to match the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 in benchmarks.
For reference, the Dimensity 9000+ features a single ARM Cortex-X2 core running at 3.2 GHz, known as its prime core. Additionally, MediaTek equips the Dimensity 9000+ with three Cortex-A710 performance and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores, plus a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. Meanwhile, Xiaomi pairs the Dimensity 9000+ with a 4,600 mAh battery that supports 120 W fast charging.

Elsewhere, the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity features the same specifications as the Xiaomi 12 Pro that we reviewed earlier this year. As such, the handset misses out on the Leica camera optimisations that the Xiaomi 12S features. Still, the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity features the same Sony IMX707 primary camera as the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro, along with the latter's other front-facing and rear-facing cameras.
Currently, Xiaomi has not confirmed whether it will offer the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity outside China. The company has unveiled pricing for the device in its home market though, where it will start at CNY 3,999 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage in black and blue colourways. Alternatively, there is a 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage option for CNY 4,499 (~US$ that comes in the same colours.
