Xgimi Z9X 4K projector gets a high brightness edition with improved features

In late 2025, the Xgimi Z9X launched in China as a new high-end portable 4K projector. Nearly a year later, the manufacturer has begun selling an upgraded version that is called the Xgimi Z9X 4K High Brightness Edition.

The new projector has the same compact design as the regular Z9X which has the same design as the Elfin Flip series sold outside China. Available in a bronze-like finish, the Xgimi Z9X 4K High Brightness Edition features a 150° adjustable built-in stand that also doubles as the handle. This stand+handle provides lens protection when the projector is not in use.

The projector features a QuaLas 42 tri-color laser with a CVIA brightness of 1600 and a dynamic contrast ratio of 30,000:1. In comparison, the standard Xgimi Z9X has a CVIA brightness of 1300 and a 20,000:1 contrast ratio.

The Xgimi Z9X 4K High Brightness Edition also has a flexible optical zoom with a throw ratio of 0.98–1.3:1, support for VRR and ALLM, support for DTS:X, and features Harman Kardon speakers. For connectivity, it has two HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, a DC power input port, and an audio port. Like the standard version, the projector weighs 1.5kg and has a thickness of 7.8cm.

The new Z9X 4K High Brightness Edition is priced at CNY 3299 (~$489/€423) and is available to buy now in China. It is expected to get an international release under the Elfin Flip series, but there's no info when. However, whenever that happens, buyers should expect it to cost more than the Elfin Flip 4K which is the international version of the standard Xgimi Z9X, that retails for $999 on Amazon and Xgimi's website.
