The first batch of game titles that will be optimized for Xbox Series X has just been revealed. Some of the games will be released before the console launch and will also be available for the current Xbox One X version, but Microsoft is implementing the new Smart Delivery system that allows players to make a one time game purchase and play the games on current gen, as well as on the next gen Xbox Series X consoles when these are launched in late 2020. This cross-gen approach will help streamline the jump to the new platform.
The list titles that will be available for Xbox Series X at launch includes returning fan-favourite IPs like Dirt 5, Madden NFL 21, Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 and Yakuza - Like a Dragon, but there are some new games like Bright Memory Infinite, Scorn, CHORVS - Rise As One, Call of the Sea, The Ascent, The Medium, Scarlet Nexus and Second Extinction: Reclaim Earth.
While the trailers for the above titles might not showcase the true capabilities of the next gen console since some are merely optimized for it, Microsoft saved the best for last and dropped a world exclusive Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay trailer to better demonstrate the power of the Xbox Series X.
Microsoft assures the Xbox fans that all its game developing studios are hard at work to bring hundreds of titles optimized or exclusive for the Xbox Series X console by 2021. The next games showcase is scheduled to present the titles currently under development at the Xbox Game Studios (including Halo Infinite) this July.
