New trademark details for an Xbox Series X logo have been spotted, with the filing date being recorded as 16 April. The new logo is surprisingly simple, featuring the word “SERIES” running vertically by the side of a large “X”, which has been deliberately stylized in an incomplete form. It’s not yet known if Microsoft will actually use the logo with the Xbox Series X console.

A user on Reddit has spotted a new logo from Microsoft for the Xbox Series X (see below for image). The logo is missing the word “Xbox” and simply goes for “SERIES” in a vertical alignment by the side of the letter “X”, which has been constructed in the same incomplete way as the “X” in the Xbox One X name. It’s a very simple-looking logo, which may end up never being used.

There has been speculation that a specific “SERIES X” logo could point toward the need for Microsoft to distinguish between specific devices rather than using the current generic logo. This would mean that Microsoft could also trademark the name “SERIES S” in a similar fashion should the Lockhart console finally be confirmed as in the pipeline.

It’s also possible that the new Xbox Series X logo is simply going to be used for related goods and items rather than for the next-gen console itself. Microsoft’s own images of the Xbox Series X console show it adorned with the familiar globe logo, which might end up being attached to the “SERIES X” name in the same way as with the Xbox One X.
