The Vision 14 ultrabook with Tiger Lake-H processors and RTX dGPUs was initially planned to ship in mid-2021 (hence the M21 suffix), but supply issues prevented XMG-Schenker from delivering the SKUs on schedule. Meanwhile, the chip shortage situation improved to some degree, and the more powerful Vision 14 configurations are now available for pre-order at Bestware.
XMG-Schenker made sure to keep the same 0.6-inch chassis profile and mostly the same weight, despite the addition of more powerful components. The i5-11300H and i7-11370H processor options, along with the addition of the Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti dGPU option (35 W + 15 W TGP) required a slight redesign of the cooling system that now features a second heatpipe and second fan. As far as weight is concerned, the difference compared to the i7-1165G7 models is around 0.2 lbs for a total of 2.4 lbs (just under 1.1 kg). Even though the CPU models have a 35 W TDP rating, the German OEM managed to tweak the power requirements and upped the TDP to 40 W sustained, with the theoretical limit of 60 W on PL2 that may be achieved with exotic cooling solutions.
Only the 3K 16:10 90 Hz 14-inch display option is available for these models, but otherwise, the specs are unchanged from the i7-1165G7 version. Users can add up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM plus up to 10 TB NVMe SSD storage (only one of M.2 slots supports PCIe 4.0) and port selection includes a Thunderbolt 4 connector plus a card reader. Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5 connectivity is also offered, and the battery still comes with a 53 Wh rating. We are still missing the dGPU MUX switch, unfortunately.
Prices for the Tiger Lake-H Vision 14 start at 1,249 Euro, with estimated delivery times of 1-2 weeks. Bestware notes that the RTX 3050 Ti options will only be available in mid-November. There is also a deal for the Tiger Lake-U version that is now available for 999 Euro and up.
