With battery and solar: Mova L10 waters up to 5,400 sq ft

The Aiper IrriSense, which is available in a second generation this year, is getting competition. With the L10, Mova has also launched a smart irrigation solution that is designed to be easy to install and water intelligently.
The L10 is not yet listed directly by Mova, but it is already available from the first European online stores for the equivalent of $350 including 19% VAT. That makes it significantly cheaper than the Aiper IrriSense 2.
In addition to the price, with the MSRP only half as high, the Mova L10 appears to offer further advantages at first glance. The device is significantly more compact than the IrriSense 2. It is also equipped with a 7,800mAh battery that is charged automatically via solar cells. Aiper's alternative, by contrast, requires a power outlet.
In terms of specs, however, the two smart garden irrigation alternatives do not differ much. The Mova L10 offers a spray distance of up to 43 ft, allowing it to water an area of up to 5,400 sq ft. As our test of the Aiper IrriSense showed, however, this is likely also highly dependent on the available water pressure.
The Mova L10 also lets users create a 360-degree map of the area around the sector sprinkler in the app, allowing it to water precisely along garden boundaries. Custom watering schedules can then be set up, while the sprinkler automatically stops watering during rainfall via the integrated rain sensor. Aiper appears to go a step further here by also taking weather forecasts into account and offering zone irrigation in the second generation.
