Deal | With 94% positive reviews, this city builder is currently available for less than $1.50 on Steam

Islanders is a minimalist city builder, currently available for $1.49, in which the main objective is to get the highest score in a single run. You can build your own cities on randomly generated islands without combat, resource management, or technology research.
In this game developed by GrizzlyGames, also known for Thronefall, you'll start with a few buildings in your inventory. The goal is to place them on your island and earn points depending on what surrounds them.
Once you earn enough points, you'll be able to move on to a new island. As you progress, you'll unlock more buildings. However, if you run out of buildings and don't earn enough points, your run ends.
Islanders does not feature a multiplayer mode. Instead, there is a leaderboard where you can see your score and the top players. There are also achievements, although there are no quests.

On Steam, this game boasts 94% positive reviews out of 16,799 reviews. On Metacritic, the trend is similar, with a Metascore of 82 and a user score of 8.4. Praised for its relaxing gameplay, it is also easy to learn. Players also appreciate its sandbox mode, and some find it addictive.
Among its flaws, some feel that it is repetitive, and its gameplay has disappointed players. The RNG has also been criticized, and a few bugs have been reported. According to SteamDB, this sale ends on October 23, 2026, and the price will return to $4.99. However, it should be noted that its lowest price was $1.24 during a 75% discount on November 20, 2024.
