Volkswagen has announced that it has partnered with Bandai Namco and N-Dream to augment its AirConsole suite of in-car gaming with a classic title. The PAC-MAN Championship Edition will be exclusive to ID.-series cars, as well as others of the Passat, Golf and Tayron ranges. The game is rated to sync with the cabin's ID. Light system in compatible vehicles.

Volkswagen has revealed that its users who want to play PAC-MAN in their cars will no longer need to take their personal devices out to do so.

The Championship Edition of the nostalgic game involves lots of dots and ghosts as always, but is optimized for the VW Active Info Display and customized with power pellets in the shape of the marque's logo.

The game's maze might also have other features that evoke the classic Bus or Beetle and the GT, GTX or R lines that yield extra bonus points when knocked into.

It can also integrate with the in-car lighting system of compatible cars for an extra immersive touch.

The game should appear as part of the next upgrade to the ID. software 4.0 in the ID.7, ID.5, ID.4 or ID.3 series, in addition to others such as variants of the Golf, Passat, Tayron or Tiguan. It also requires an active VW Connect Plus and a Volkswagen ID user account to work.
