Renault has announced an update for the Scenic E-Tech electric vehicle in Europe. It is an all-electric model, designed for families, which was launched in 2024. This new refreshed model is currently rolling out across in various countries.
The new Renault Scenic E-Tech will gain One Pedal, which is described as an additional layer of regenerative braking, allowing the EV to come to a complete standstill without the driver needing to touch the middle pedal. Other benefits of this system include reduced wear of brake pads and enhanced energy recovery. Renault notes that existing Scenic E-Tech owners can have One Pedal retrofitted to their vehicle for free, as long as their EV has steering-wheel paddles.
Renault is offering a new bidirectional 11 kW charger as standard, and an optional 22kW version is also launching this summer. These vehicle-to-load (V2L) chargers allow owners to power devices like a coffee machine, barbeque or e-scooter via the EV’s battery. Plus, in France, they have vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capability, which could help users reduce their energy bills. Also, the new Scenic E-Tech will be compatible with Plug & Charge, meaning you can use some DC charging points with payment processed via the My Renault app, so you do not need a separate membership or payment method.
Another new feature for the Esprit Alpine and Iconic trims is camera-based recognition of the driver, automatically switching to their preferred settings, including seat and wing mirror positions. Plus, the camera is said to be able to monitor the driver for signs of tiredness and alert them accordingly. The new Renault Scenic E-Tech will be available to order in the UK later in April, starting from £37,195, a slightly lower price than seen previously.
