Twelve South launches new compact ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger
The Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger has arrived in the US. The company claims that its new product is the world’s smallest device of its kind, around the same size as an AirPods Pro case; when folded, the gadget measures 2.25 x 0.5-in (~57 x 13 mm).
The compact gadget has a hard-wearing aluminum shell, designed to match a MacBook, encasing two chargers, a 15W MagSafe charger for your iPhone or AirPods and a second 5W fast charger for an Apple Watch or AirPods. Plus, you can fold the ButterFly into a stand, which you could use with your watch in Nightstand mode or your iPhone in StandBy mode. The device comes with a braided 30W USB-C power cable and four international plug adapters, making it suitable for travel.
Twelve South notes that the gadget is compatible with iPhone Series 12 and above, all Apple Watch models including Ultra and various AirPods. You can now buy the Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger exclusively at the Apple store. According to Apple, shipping will begin shortly, with an estimated four to six weeks transit time. The product retails for $129.99, around the same amount historically charged for the Apple MagSafe Duo Wireless Charger. Whether or not customers are willing to purchase the new product at this price remains to be seen.
