Deal | This 34-inch QD-OLED ultrawide gaming monitor sports excellent picture quality, and is now 28% off on Amazon

The Alienware AW3423DWF is an excellent 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitor with a QD-OLED panel that is frequently found at lucrative sale prices on Amazon. For those on the prowl for a well-equipped gaming monitor, the AW3423DWF is currently on sale again at its all-time low price of just $500 on the platform.
Being an OLED, the Alienware gaming monitor sports all the hallmark benefits of the panel technology. Inky blacks, near-infinite contrast ratio, near-instant response times - check, check, and check. With a refresh rate of 165 Hz, gamers who enjoy fast-paced gaming are unlikely to be disappointed with the 3440 x 1440 panel.
The 34-inch QD-OLED panel allows for impressive picture quality
RTINGS' comprehensive review of the AW3423DWF gaming monitor lauded the panel's superb color volume and accuracy, as is to be expected from a premium QD-OLED. However, what is also quite common with QD-OLEDs is slightly worse text clarity owing to the triangular sub-pixel layout, which causes fringing around text. There are also many other monitors with higher refresh rates, and competitive gamers might be better off with a faster panel.
Brightness performance is acceptable, although nothing to write home about. The panel peaks at over 1,000 nits in a 2% window, and over 450 nits in a 25% window. Full-screen brightness peaks at around 250 nits, which should be enough for most tasks in environments with controlled lighting. Viewing angles and reflection handling are excellent.

Moreover, in brightly-lit rooms, blacks may appear purple-ish due to the lack of a polarizer, which might be annoying to some folks. When used in darker rooms, there are no such issues. The I/O on offer has been listed below:
- HDMI 2.0, dual DisplayPort 1.4
- 4x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports
- USB Type-B (downstream)
- 3.5 mm audio
At its current all-time low price, the Alienware AW3423DWF gaming monitor is an excellent gaming monitor that ticks plenty of boxes. Those who can live with its minor but noticeable downsides and do not need ludicrously high refresh rates, will most likely be very pleased with their purchase.
