The Xiaomi 12 Pro supposedly matches the Google Pixel 6 and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in camera tests
Three months after releasing the Xiaomi 12 series in China, Xiaomi finally launched the flagships on the global market a few weeks ago. Pending the debut of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra later in the year, the Xiaomi 12 Pro sits at the top of the company's hierarchy and has now made the trip over the DxOMark for an evaluation of its camera prowess.
According to DxOMark, the Xiaomi 12 Pro performs rather well, with an overall score of 131. That places it on par with other current premium phones like the Google Pixel 6 (132), Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (131), and iPhone 13 (130). Seeing as those three devices are generally considered to represent the pinnacle of smartphone camera photography at the moment, that's some high praise for the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
Of course, the validity of DxOMark's evaluation has widely been called into doubt. The new Honor Magic4 Ultimate currently sits at the top of the website's leaderboard, for example. As such, potential buyers would be better served conducting further research on the camera chops of the Xiaomi 12 Pro. We did put it through our own tests and found the flagship phone to be competitive, albeit with exaggerated contrast and sharpness.
