The Last of Us 2 was undoubtedly one of the most highly-anticipated titles of 2020. However, Naughty Dog's masterpiece got ruined by a slew of leaks that effectively laid the game's ending out in the open for the world to see. The game does, however, have a very vocal fanbase who can't wait to get their hands on it. Sony is now banking upon them to sell its leftover Playstation 4 Pro stock before the PlayStation 5 is scheduled to hit the shelves later this year.
Sony has unveiled a The Last of Us 2 themed Playstation 4 Pro via a press release earlier today. The special edition console comes with an engraving based on the tattoo sported by the protagonist of the original The Last of Us. It also comes with a similarly-themed wireless controller, 2TB Seagate external hard drive, and even a headset.
Sony is also throwing in a themed controller along with the console. An extra controller can be had for $64.99, while the actual console will set you back by $399. The external hard drive and headset will cost an additional $89 and $99, respectively. You also get a copy of The Last of Us 2 and a code to redeem 'digital content,' which is likely going to be in-game cosmetics.
Unless you're a hardcore fan of The Last of Us series, buying a Playstation 4 Pro mere months before its successor is expected to make a debut is unwise, especially when the PlayStation 5 is rumored to be backward compatible with PS4 games.
The console will be available for purchase on the same date as The Last of Us 2 hits the shelves; June 19th. It'll be up for sale only in the United States and Canada only, though. You can find out more about the bundle here.
