Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi K90 just a few days ago. It will likely come to other markets outside of China, but impatient Xiaomi fans can now order the smartphone from specialized import dealer TradingShenzhen. In addition to shipping costs and longer shipping times, buyers should keep in mind that their local warranty rights will not apply, although TradingShenzhen offers a separate warranty. Regarding the global model of the Redmi K90, Play Store is available, but Android Auto and the not entirely irrelevant LTE band 20 are lacking. Compatibility with eSIM cards is also not guaranteed. The base price is just under $450 (12/256 GB), $508 for an upgrade to 16 GB of RAM, $612 for 16 GB and 512 GB, and $694 for the model with 1,024 GB of internal storage.
Powerful SoC and telephoto lens
Although the Snapdragon 8 Elite is not Qualcomm's current flagship SoC, it is still a very powerful computing chip. The K90 otherwise features a 6.59-inch OLED panel with 120 Hz, a resolution of 2,510 x 1,156, and a maximum brightness of 3,500 cd/m². A 50 MP main camera is on board and the telephoto lens provides 2.5x optical zoom, but the ultra-wide-angle sensor has a comparatively low resolution of 8 MP. As for dimensions, the smartphone is around 8 millimeters thick, weighs 210 grams and comes with a 7,100 mAh battery that can be charged at 100 watts and can charge other devices at a maximum of 22.5 watts.
