Star Wars Eclipse: Quantic Dream confirms that the game is still in development

Highly anticipated by fans of the franchise, Star Wars Eclipse remained silent for many months, raising several questions about its development. But recently, an announcement was made on the Quantic Dream website, providing fans with some news.

It's important to note that Star Wars Eclipse was first announced in 2021 during The Game Awards with a trailer that took everyone by surprise. And while things have been quiet around this project, we know that the story will take place during the High Republic era. In addition, Quantic Dream, the studio developing this game, could incorporate gameplay similar to that of Detroit: Become Human.

But David Cage, director of the French studio, recently spoke out in a statement on Quantic Dream's official website, where he made a big announcement: 

"After years as a single-project studio, we also decided to take a new step. Multiple teams are fully dedicated to crafting the next generation of great games, including something very different, a competitive multiplayer experience, born from the same spirit of curiosity and creativity that has always defined us. This new title may surprise our fans as it is very different from what we have done so far. But taking risks, challenging ourselves, exploring new ways of playing and telling stories, and attempting what seems impossible, has always been part of our DNA.”

As you can see, the studio will now be working on several projects at once, and a surprise could be coming soon. And regarding Star Wars Eclipse, the following has been stated: 

"Of course, development of Star Wars: Eclipse continues, and we are eager to share more with you in the future.”

Thus, its development is still ongoing and announcements could be made in the coming months. But for the moment, no other information is available, either for its gameplay or a release date.
