Since the release of Pie a while ago, we’ve had a few OEMs send out updates—or publicly announce their plans for the rollout—of the current version of Android. Motorola unveiled its update schedule for Android Pie, and Sony has now followed suit.
According to the announcement on Sony’s mobile division's blogs, the company will send out updates to the Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Compact, XZ2 Premium, XZ Premium, XZ1, and XZ1 Compact. All of these devices are flagships—current-gen or last-gen, as the case may be, with the oldest being the XZ Premium that was released in February 2017. These devices will receive their Oreo updates in November, which is about par for Sony OS updates over the past few generations.

I like tech, simple as. Half the time, you can catch me writing snarky sales copy. The rest of the time, I'm either keeping readers abreast with the latest happenings in the mobile tech world or watching football. I worked as both a journo and freelance content writer for a couple of years before joining the Notebookcheck team in 2017. Feel free to shoot me some questions on Twitter or Reddit if it so tickles thine fancy.
