Android Pie was released last week, and has made its way to a limited number of devices—a list currently comprised of the Essential PH-1 and Google Pixels. Officially, at least. According to trustworthy sources, Huawei is currently testing the new Android Pie build on four of its devices: The Mate 10 Pro, Honor View 10, Huawei P20, and Honor 10. By association, we expect devices like the Mate 10 and P20 Pro to also be in the running.
Of course, users of devices with a Huawei crest can forget about receiving the update to Pie for a while. The company will likely roll out the Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 alongside the Mate 20 next month. All the aforementioned devices have Treble support, though, so we expect the Pie rollout to be speedier than that of Oreo.
Meanwhile, Sony is said to be set to send out the Pie update to a number of its flagships. Sony has always been one of the most responsive OEMs in terms of updates, so this isn’t much of a surprise. Users of the devices can expect their Android Pie updates over the next few months.
