Seiko Prospex HBB005K1 tiger diver gets first hands-on look
Seiko’s India-exclusive Prospex HBB005K1 takes its inspiration from the Indian tiger, pairing a vivid amber dial with black and rose gold-toned accents. These first hands-on photos offer a closer look at its striking tiger-fur texture, substantial case, and bold wrist presence.

Seiko recently took the wraps off the India-exclusive Prospex HBB005K1 limited edition inspired by the Indian tiger. High-quality imagery published by the company has already done a great job showcasing the beauty of the amber dial, and now first hands-on photos and unboxing videos finally show off how the watch actually looks in real life.

Photos and video posted by Reddit users u/Business_Pound_5844 and u/rooktoe5 on r/watchesindia offer a better look at the dial's surprisingly intricate texture. Under the right light, the rich orange-amber surface reveals fine vertical striations designed to evoke tiger fur. It’s a subtle detail that’s easy to miss in Seiko’s official images, but becomes much more apparent up cloe, giving the bold dial some extra visual depth.

The rest of the design sticks to the Prospex diver formula. Large applied hour markers and broad, lume-filled hands sit against the warm dial, while a black ceramic bezel provides a stark contrast. As you can see in the images, the white dive markings are joined by orange accents between 12 and 20 minutes, while a rose gold-toned edge around the bezel adds another flash of color. The date window at 3 o’clock gets a magnifying lens, and a large, knurled crown reinforces the watch’s chunky tool-watch character. In person, that contrast gives the watch a more dramatic presence.

At 43.8mm wide and roughly 12.8mm thick, the HBB005K1 is undeniably large, and the stainless steel construction makes it feel substantial on the wrist. Redditor u/Business_Pound_5844, who had a chance to check out the watch in person, described it as “BIG AND SUPER HEAVY,” finding it somewhat gaudy on the wrist while praising the detailing and packaging. The screw-down crown is similarly oversized.

The tiger theme extends to the presentation box, which is covered in orange-and-black striping and comes with an additional black silicone strap.

Limited to 1,000 individually numbered pieces and priced at ₹1,07,000, the Seiko Prospex India Limited Edition HBB005K1 is now available at Seiko boutiques and salons across India, with online sales set to begin on September 21.
