Seiko debuts a striking limited edition Prospex diver inspired by the Indian tiger

After giving Europe an exclusive Prospex diver last month, Seiko is giving India its own limited-edition watch. The new Prospex India Limited Edition HBB005K1 takes its inspiration from the Indian tiger, pairing a deep amber dial with black and orange details that nod to the big cat’s distinctive coat.
The dial features a rich amber surface displaying a fine, textured pattern that resembles the texture of tiger fur, paired with oversized white hour markers, broad minute and hour hands, and a red seconds hand. A date window sits at 3 o’clock beneath a magnifying lens, and the red “DIVER’S 200m” text and Prospex logo appear on the lower half of the dial.
The dial is framed by a black ceramic bezel with white dive markings and a rose gold-toned outer edge, with orange minute markers running from 12 to 20 minutes. At 43.8mm across, this is a big watch. The stainless steel case measures 12.8mm thick and is paired with a stainless steel bracelet, and Seiko also bundles an additional black silicone strap for a sportier look.
The Prospex India Limited Edition HBB005K1 is powered by Seiko’s 4R35 automatic movement, which offers manual winding and around 41 hours of power reserve. It also gets a sapphire crystal with a date magnifier and 200-meter water resistance.
Each watch comes in dedicated tiger-themed packaging and includes a photo print of an Indian tiger shot by wildlife photographer Aarzoo Khurana. Of course, this isn’t Seiko’s first tiger-inspired watch; the brand previously released the Indonesia-exclusive 5 Sports SRPL45K1 with a vivid orange, tiger-stripe dial inspired by the endangered Sumatran tiger. But the Prospex HBB005K takes the idea in a more refined direction with a more premium Prospex line and a cleaner dial.
Notably, India is home to the largest tiger population in the world by far, with an estimated 3,682 wild tigers.
