Samsung has released the Odyssey OLED G61SH in the US, a new 27-inch gaming monitor that appears to be a budget variant of the older G61SD. Priced at $599.99, it features the same 1440p QD-OLED panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate, but it makes a few compromises to reach the lower price point.

Samsung has expanded its Odyssey gaming monitor lineup with a new budget-friendly Odyssey OLED G6 based on the 3rd-gen QD-OLED panel. We've already seen this panel in plenty of affordable options like the $499.99 MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 and the $449.99 ViewSonic VX2738-2K-OLED.

The new Samsung model starts a bit higher at $599.99 and appears to be a budget variant of the Odyssey OLED G6 G61SD, which launched in 2024 at $799.99. In the US, buyers can purchase the new Odyssey OLED G6 G61SH directly from Samsung. It's also available on Amazon, but it costs $50 more.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 (G61SH) features and specifications

The Odyssey OLED G6 G61SH is part of Samsung's 2026 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup. It features a 27-inch display with a QHD (2560 × 1440) resolution and a native 240 Hz refresh rate, complemented by a 0.03 ms response time and AMD FreeSync Premium VRR. The display is said to support HDR10 and HDR10+ Gaming, but with only 400 nits of peak brightness, highlights won't pop as well as on high-end OLEDs with 1,000+ nits.

Like recent Samsung OLED monitors, it not only covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, but it is also Pantone Validated and Pantone SkinTone Validated, so you get accurate colors out of the box. Other highlights include an anti-glare coating, OLED Care features, and a fully ergonomic stand.

However, the G61SH has fewer ports than the G61SD. It includes a single HDMI 2.1 port, DisplayPort 1.4, and a headphone jack. There is no USB-C or USB hub, and it also comes in a black plastic frame, while the G61SD has a more premium metal design. Moreover, the newer G61SH does not appear to include a heat pipe for cooling, unlike the older model.
