Lego PlayStation 1: Pricing and availability for new Lego set leaks

According to a new rumour, Lego is preparing to expand its range with a recreation of another classic console. To recap, the Lego Game Boy debuted last year for under $60 (curr. $59.95 on Amazon). Eventually, that release was transformed into a working handheld and even a mini arcade cabinet.
Reportedly, Lego is on the verge of introducing the 72306 PlayStation 1. For context, the Lego Game Boy consists of 421 pieces. In comparison, lego_minecraft_goat alleges that the PlayStation 1 set will comprise 1,911 pieces for the console itself and at least one controller. Whether that includes a replica memory card remains to be seen at this point.
Likewise, the set's design and packaging remain unknown for now, though. In the meantime, lego_minecraft_goat reports that the 72306 PlayStation 1 will receive a retail release this December. An announcement date remains unclear for now, too. Nonetheless, lego_minecraft_goat believes that Lego has settled on $159.99 launch pricing in the US and €159.99 launch pricing across the Eurozone.
