Asus announces new 280Hz and 240Hz QD-OLED gaming monitors with up to 1,000 nits peak brightness

Alongside the upgraded Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2, Asus has also introduced two additional OLED gaming monitors under its ROG Strix lineup. Built around Samsung's 3rd-Gen QD-OLED panel, the new ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMES add new 280Hz and 240Hz options to the popular 27-inch 1440p panel.
Both displays use a semi-glossy coating and are listed with a 0.03 ms response time. In addition, ASUS also equips the two monitors with its OLED Care Pro suite, which includes a proximity sensor designed to reduce the risk of burn-in by dimming the panel when the user steps away. That said, the XG27ACDMS packs more advanced features, including a 1,000 nits peak brightness and USB-C, albeit with only 15W Power Delivery. Combined with its higher refresh rate, the XG27ACDMS costs a bit more at $699.
On the other hand, the XG27AQDMES comes in at a lower $599. As expected, Asus cut some corners here to hit the lower price point. For instance, it has a peak brightness of 400 nits and does not come with a USB-C port. In the US, the monitors are available directly from Asus, but the XG27AQDMES is currently out of stock. In the UK, both models are available via Amazon, currently priced at £449 and £369, respectively.
