Samsung Galaxy S20 FE poised to take on the OnePlus 8T with a 50 MP camera and Snapdragon 865
A few weeks ago, we published a report about Samsung's plans to release yet another Galaxy S20 phone—a phone expected to be branded as the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition. More details of that device have now surfaced.
Going by new information, Samsung plans to release the Galaxy S20 FE in September. That matches up with previous information. Supposedly, Samsung is considering using the Snapdragon 865 on the phone, instead of a Snapdragon 855 or Snapdragon 765G. A Snapdragon 865 on the Galaxy S20 FE makes plenty of sense, as the phone it succeeds, the S10 Lite, was powered by a Snapdragon 855.
The Galaxy S20 FE is expected to take on the OnePlus 8T. Going by the launch dates of the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 7T, the 8T should be released around September too. The Galaxy S20 FE is said to sport a flat AMOLED display like the S10 Lite, although the display may be a 60 Hz panel. The OnePlus 8T, on the other hand, will almost definitely have a 120 Hz display.
Most importantly, however, the Galaxy S20 FE is expected to feature a 50 MP main camera. The sensor in question is Samsung's own ISOCELL GN1 that debuted on the Vivo X50 Pro+. That sensor is excellent by all metrics, and is considered to be better than the 108 MP sensor on the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
We'll be sure to keep you updated on this.
Going to be a lower priced rigid OLED rather than higher prices flexible OLED...
