Roborock A20 Series vacuum cleaners with new FlatReach technology arrive
Roborock has unveiled the A20 Series wet and dry vacuum cleaners; there are two new models, the A20 and the A20 Pro. A new feature from the company used in these devices is FlatReach, which allows the vacuum cleaner's body to be parallel to the floor and 15 cm (~5.9-in) tall, making it easier to clean under furniture items like sofas or beds without moving them.
Both Roborock A20 models can deliver up to 17,000 suction power, with a "constant pressure" brush and a comb to help pick up hair. The docking station has a self-cleaning feature with 60°C high-temperature washing for an approximate sterilization rate of 99.9%. Plus, a five-minute drying cycle targets various areas of the vacuum, such as the roller brush, to keep bacteria at bay. A 4,000 mAh battery allows the vacuum to run for up to 40 minutes on a single charge, making it suitable for an area of around 300 m² (~3,230 ft²). The Pro features AI two-way power-assisted wheels, which, alongside the 635 g (~22.4 oz) holding weight, help to make light work of cleaning. The upgraded model also adds an LED light to help you see dust, alongside AI dirt sensing for intelligently adjusted settings for deeper cleaning.
You can control the power, water volume and speed on the integrated screen, while further commands, such as scheduled washing and drying, can be configured in the accompanying app. Customers in China can now pre-order the Roborock A20 and A20 Pro at the discounted prices of 2,499 yuan (~$351) and 2,999 yuan (~$422), respectively, by placing a 100 yuan (~$14) deposit. Whether Roborock will demonstrate the A20 Series at CES 2024 remains to be seen; at least one new upright vacuum cleaner is expected to be on show.
