8BitDo has announced official Amazon availability of its latest Xbox licensed Arcade Controller, over a month after the company opened pre-orders for the controller in the UK and Europe. To recap, the 8BitDo Arcade Controller for Xbox debuted alongside the regular version in May with advantages like a larger battery capacity and RGB lighting.
Specifically, 8BitDo equips the for Xbox version with a 3x larger battery capacity that comes in at 3,000 mAh and promises up to 40 hours of usage. Meanwhile, the regular edition is rated for 20 hours of gameplay from its 1,000 mAh battery. Please note that enabling RGB lighting on the Xbox version drops its official battery estimate to 20 hours despite with its significantly larger battery capacity.
In part, that is because 8BitDo applies RGB lighting behind twelve large and low-profile mechanical switches. Also, the company has included sixteen Kailh Wizard switches, which are all linked to a hot-swappable PCB that can be replaced with other switches as needed. For reference, while the controller offers 2.4 GHz connectivity, its wired latency is as low as 4 ms in wired mode.
Currently, the 8BitDo Arcade Controller for Xbox is available to order on Amazon for $99.99. At the time of publication, 8BitDo will begin shipping pre-orders as early as July 25. Please see 8BitDo's Amazon store link for more details.
