Despite its massive success as a movie franchise, John Wick only ever had one officially licensed game on PC/console. John Wick Hex was announced in 2019 and subsequently launched in 2020. Anyone looking to play the game has two days to do so, as it will be removed from all storefronts (Steam, Epic Games, PSN and Xbox) on July 17.
Developer Bithell Games has announced John Wick Hex's demise on its Steam page. Nothing is explicitly mentioned, but one can safely assume it may have something to do with licensing. Thankfully, anyone who already bought the game can continue playing it via their libraries, unlike the soon-to-be-shuttered Anthem.
Games that leave digital storefronts typically offer some last-minute discount, but that doesn't seem to be the case with John Wick Hex. Its asking price of $20 isn't much, but a price cut would be nice to boost last-minute sales. Considering the number of reviews it has on Steam, the game likely didn't sell many copies.
John Wick Hex lets you play as the iconic figure in a top-down setting. Its aesthetics are similar to those of The Ascent, but its gameplay is entirely different. While some players have enjoyed it, many consider it boring, repetitive, and overly reliant on a single playstyle.
