Following the relaunch of the Retroid Pocket 6 in late October, Retroid began accepting pre-orders for the handheld on November 2nd. Now, the pre-order period has come to an end, as well as the discount provided during the period. However, Retroid has begun accepting a second batch of pre-orders with a new shipping date.
A message on the Retroid website says that the first batch of pre-orders for the Retroid Pocket 6 will start shipping in the beginning of January 2026 as previously promised. The message also adds that it has begun accepting a new batch of pre-orders, which will start shipping in March 2026.
There's no info yet as to when Retroid will close pre-orders for the second batch, however, going by the 6-week duration for the first batch, there's a chance this might last for a similar period. This means we can expect this second pre-order window to last up until the end of January.
Retroid hasn't said if the Pocket 6 will finally be available for open purchase after this second pre-order phase ends. Nevertheless, anyone who wants the Retroid Pocket 6 should order it now, rather than wait until the pre-order period ends. This is because there might be another round of waiting before the handheld is finally available for open purchase.
The Retroid Pocket 6 has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Retroid is offering the Pocket 6 in two design options — one with symmetrical thumbsticks and another with the left thumbstick above the D-Pad.
Regardless of the version you choose, the Retroid Pocket 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which is paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. It also has a 6,000mAh battery capacity, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and runs Android 13 out of the box.
The base model with 8GB RAM is priced at $229 while the 12GB RAM version costs $279.
