The Redmi Note 12 series remains a Chinese exclusive for now, with Xiaomi having introduced the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Discovery Edition already available in the company’s home market. Incidentally, Xiaomi briefly sold a Racing Edition model, although this was only ever marketed as a limited edition version of the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. Xiaomi has not yet commented on whether any Redmi Note 12 models will make their way out of China though, which would usually indicate that there would be no releases anytime soon.
According to @stufflistings, this will not be the case with the Redmi Note 12 series. Instead, the leaker asserts that ‘serial production…has begun in several Asian and European regions’. In other words, Xiaomi is making the final touches before it releases Redmi Note 12 smartphones in these markets. Unfortunately, @stufflistings has not outlined which countries these could be, although his tweet implies that the release will not be Asia or Europe-wide.
Still, it appears that Xiaomi hopes to bring the pair to market in certain Asian and European countries within the next few weeks at the earliest. Presumably, a December release would occur in time for holiday season orders. Alternatively, we imagine that ‘early next year’ would mean January or February 2023 at the latest. Sadly, early indications are that Xiaomi will not announce the Redmi Note 12 Pro Discovery Edition globally, with the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus serving as the series’ global representatives outside China instead.
