RedMagic details its new Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5 rival

RedMagic is gearing up to launch a new competitor to the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5, the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro. It's set to launch in China on June 30, 2026, and the pad is expected to make a global debut soon, possibly under a different name.
Previously, the company confirmed that the gaming tablet will feature the latest flagship SoC from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Just like the predecessor, the RedMagic Astra, it will be paired with an active cooling fan.
The company has now revealed more details, and the water cooling setup is a highlight. RedMagic claims that the gaming tablet sports a self-developed "piezoelectric micropump," and it will use the same "fluorinated fluid" that's used in AI servers. These, paired with the large vapor chamber, should make the SoC deliver stable performance under heavy loads.
Another key highlight revealed is the refresh rate. This new RedMagic gaming tablet is now confirmed to sport an OLED display with an 185Hz refresh rate, giving it an edge over the Legion Tab Gen 5's 165Hz LCD screen.
A dedicated Synaptics S3930 touch chip will co-power the 9.06-inch OLED display. This screen is also confirmed to sport a 16:10 ratio, a peak brightness rating of 1,600 nits, and come with HDR10 support.
Other specs of the gaming tablet have not been confirmed yet, but this RedMagic pad is expected to sport an 8,300mAh battery and be available with up to 1TB of storage and 24GB of RAM.
