The RedMagic 7 is one of the very few premium Android smartphones on the international market with an industry-leading 165Hz refresh rate for its AMOLED display. Now, it is available at US$50 off its original global launch price. Its Pro counterpart, which has upgraded to an under-display camera in 2022, is also now on sale.

RedMagic has announced a price-drop for its 7 series of Android flagship smartphones. These early-2022 devices contains a Pro variant that is a world first in that it has brought an under-display camera to its gaming-focused brand for the first time.

This new truly edge-to-edge display effect does come at somewhat of a cost to its refresh rate: the 7 Pro drops to 120Hz for its new spec. However, RedMagic's world-first 165Hz rate lives on in the vanilla 7, which has a front-facing sensor tucked into a minimal forehead rather than a punch-hole in any case.

The RedMagic 7 also still has a 'Supernova' SKU with a top-end 18GB of RAM and an active, RGB rear-facing fan in any case. It is also now cheaper via the OEM's official store, at US$749 rather than its starting price of US$799.

Its 'Obsidian' (12GB of RAM/128GB of internal storage with a black-and-red colorway without visible cooling) and 'Pulsar' (16GB/256GB in purple-and-blue neon) variants also now have the same discount, and can now be ordered for US$579 and $679 respectively.

The 7 Pro (Global Edition) has its own 'Supernova' and 'Obsidian' SKUs, although they both have 16GB of RAM with 512GB and 256GB of RAM respectively. They are offered at US$100 and $70 off respectively, and now cost US$799 and $729.

RedMagic does not specify how long this offer might last. Meanwhile, its iterative 7S-series upgrades, which rock the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in place of the 8 Gen 1, remain at full price and, thus, cost up to US$899 for the 7S Pro in its new Mercury colorway.

Meanwhile, Asus' ROG Phone 6 Batman Edition has made its way onto Amazon.com - priced at no less than US$2199 for a 12GB RAM unit.
