Realme's first Snapdragon 460 phone may have been spotted on Geekbench
The Snapdragon 460 has been of marked interest for a budget Qualcomm mobile processor as of late. This is because it is thought to power OnePlus' debut in the lower end of the smartphone market (the "Clover"). Now, it seems Realme is preparing a competitor to this device with the same SoC.
This indication comes in the form of a new Geekbench 5 listing for a "realme RMX2101". It is described as running Android 10 using a platform called bengal. This code-name has been confirmed as referring to the 460 as of the launch of the first phone to be based on it, the OPPO A53 (2020).
The processor's apparent latest manifestation is currently thought to be re-named the Realme C17 on its launch. Should this be the case, it may have at least 1 SKU with 6GB of RAM - which would make it the first of its series with this spec.
As to its price, the OnePlus Clover is currently believed to hang around the US$200 mark on its launch, whereas the 4GB A53 went for less than this on its launch. A Realme C17 based on this leak may also be fortunate in its battery stats: the new C15 has a 6000mAh battery (also reportedly destined for the Clover). Then again, the OEM has yet to confirm or deny these rumors.
