Realme finally confirms a GT2 series launch alongside a leak-crushing new fashion-forward teaser
It's pretty clear by now that Realme intends to unveil the GT2 Pro, alongside any possible additional series members, gradually throughout the month of December 2021, culminating in an actual launch event now scheduled for 19:30 in China (or 12:30 CET) on January 4, 2022. The OEM has confirmed that this will be a worldwide event, and should thus finally outline availability and pricing for the upcoming "custom flagship" line.
On that note, Realme has chosen to back that new tag up with a new showcase for the GT2 Pro's "world's first innovation in material". This new kind of teaser comes in the form of a Vogue Italia article for its so-called "Paper Tech Master Design", which involves a new "bio-based" rear-panel material.
The piece now reveals that this polymer has been worked into a design by Naoto Fukasawa intended to reflect the future-focused, sustainability-promoting notes Realme clearly wants to hit with the impending top-end series. It also indicates that the designer has come up with a cross-hatched texture for the GT2 rear panel - now apparently revealed to look nothing like the Nexus 6P, as earlier leaks have suggested.
In fact, should the device shown in the hands of Vogue's models be the Pro model, it will not be a huge departure from others such as the GT Neo2, particularly in terms of its rear camera hump. Nevertheless, the new official leak does yield some interesting details on the shooters in question, including that the 2 larger lenses as pictured will be dual 50MP primary sensors, enhanced with something called "Matrix OS".
