CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 had a, well, less than ideal launch late last year. Severe performance issues on last-gen consoles including the Playstation 4 and Xbox One were part of the problem. But critics and users also pointed out that many gameplay features - like the game's AI - were underdeveloped or broken.
Modder cortlong50 felt that Cyberpunk's combat system could also use a bit of change. As it stands, level scaling means that higher level NPCs can soak up entire clips of ammunition. The same holds true for the player, too, when going up against lower-tier opponents.
When going up against high-powered enemies, multiple grenades and shotgun blasts often fail to get the job done, a potential immersion-breaker. To counteract this, cortlong50's mod sets all NPCs - and the player's - health to 100 and eliminates health scaling on leveling up. This means that NPCs will die much faster, but that it's also much easier for the player to die.
The mod is still in beta. However, it could offer a good reason to get back into Cyberpunk, for more dynamic gunfights.
