The Acer Predator Helios Neo 14 with an RTX 4070 laptop GPU was retailing for around $1,400 during the holiday season. We reported on this back in December. A few months later, the laptop’s price has now dropped even further to a new all-time low for a short time.
Folks who are interested in acquiring a high-refresh FHD/QHD gaming machine can now buy the Acer Predator Helios Neo 14 with an RTX 4070 for only $1,249.99 at B&H Photo, a $600 discount on the list price (linked at the end).
Specs-wise, Acer combines the GPU with a Meteor Lake Core Ultra 9 185H CPU and a 14.5-inch 3072 x 1920 resolution panel refreshing at 165 Hz. The laptop also carries 32 GB of non-expandable memory, 1 TB of Gen 4 storage, and a rather large 76 Wh battery.
The internals alone are enough to see that Acer is targeting AAA FHD/QHD gaming with the Predator Helios Neo 14. Our review confirmed that the Acer Predator Helios Neo 14 is a solid gamer that can push AAA titles at QHD without DLSS. For instance, we were able to run Ghost of Tsushima above 80 and 50 FPS at FHD/high and QHD/ultra, respectively.
The Predator Helios Neo 14 also does a good job presenting these games as the 14.5-inch IPS panel delivers more than 400 nits of average brightness alongside 95% sRGB coverage and a 165 Hz refresh rate.
Finally, gamers who want to take the 14-inch machine with them can comfortably do so, as the Predator Helios Neo 14 is rather compact for a gaming laptop. It also lasts more than 8 hours on a single charge (result from our WLAN test).
Long story short, the Acer Predator Helios Neo 14, for only $1,1249.99, is a screaming deal. However, buyers who are interested in the laptop need to be quick as B&H Photo will discontinue the offer on February 25.
