RTX 5000-powered laptops are about to become available for purchase next month, but all of these high-end machines will cost significantly more than $1,000. Even the base model of the Zephyrus G14 (2024), which is equipped with the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060, was originally priced at a rather lofty $1,599. Thanks to ever-growing discounts, the portable 14-inch Asus gaming laptop is now on sale for just $1,075 at Best Buy, which should be one of its lowest prices ever and provides 33% in savings over the official MSRP. Most importantly, this deal undercuts a previous sale by another $24 or 2%.

While we were quite impressed by the G14 OLED (2024) and its hybrid concept that combines multimedia and gaming characteristics, we didn't like the soldered 16GB LPDDR5X memory and rather unspectacular peak HDR brightness of less than 500 nits. Nonetheless, this AMD-powered Asus notebook might be worth considering for gamers who are ready to invest roughly $1,000 into a portable 14-inch gaming machine.
