Asus' ROG Zephyrus G14 is a fantastic laptop for most people. Geeks like myself will appreciate the customizable RGB lighting and the hardware, which is good enough for most gaming sessions. Professionals will appreciate the stylish design and the long battery life. If I had to pick one group that would like this laptop the most, it would be the professionals crew. The RTX 4060 GPU is at the low end of the series so its performance will disappoint gamers looking for raw power. Plus, the bloatware cuts too much into the SSD, limiting the amount of big files you can have at a time. The Zephyrus G14 starts at $1,600. My review unit, in particular, costs $1,900, which is certainly not cheap. Additionally, there isn't much you can do to lower the price tag, as the customization options only add to the laptop. The bottom line: the Zephyrus G14 is worth the price, but if you want something cheaper, check out ZDNET's best budget gaming laptops for recommendations.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 can do it all, from high-performance gaming to demanding creative projects and office work. Its sleek, portable design and gorgeous OLED screen complement the powerful hardware inside, delivering a premium experience that rivals both gaming laptops and ultrabooks. If you or someone you know are shopping for a laptop that can handle intense gaming sessions without compromising on everyday performance, the Zephyrus G14 deserves a look. While it comes at a premium price, its versatility makes it a solid value for anyone seeking a do-it-all machine that doesn’t scream “gaming laptop.” The Asus ROG Zephyrus is available in platinum white or eclipse gray, with prices beginning at $1,599, depending on the configuration you choose.

There is a lot to love and hate with this year’s ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14. On the one hand, I respect how ASUS has shaved down more than 200g from the overall weight and still retained those long legs on its battery. And while the RTX 4060 isn’t quite as adequate for the display this round, it has proven good enough for odd gaming sessions on the go. On the other hand, the 3K display feels a little mismatched, even more so because the highest-tier G14 ASUS Malaysia plans on bringing in only houses the RTX 4060. Honestly, if it chose to bring in the model with the RTX 4070, that would be a better value, despite our weakened Ringgit. Other than that, and if I have to nitpick, I really wish ASUS retained the Ergolift hinge but again, not a dealbreaker. Having said that, I think you would be hard-pressed to find another 14-incher that packs as much fun as this year’s G14. Well, that, or ASUS’ recently announced TUF Gaming A14 but to be fair, I won’t be able to draw any conclusions until I get that model in my lab.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 isn’t exactly what I wanted, but it’s the only newest entry into the series that I’d consider buying. I was rather impressed by its OLED display and its long battery life. What ties it all together is that ultraportable design. However, it’s hard to surpass the less-than-stellar gaming performance. Otherwise, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is a perfectly acceptable entry into the G14 series — as long as you don’t mind lowering the graphics a few notches.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is no longer the Razer Blade 14’s cheaper alternative—it is the Blade 14 killer, and it should make MacBook loyalists reconsider their allegiance. The OLED panel is one of the most vibrant and accurate displays on the laptop scene, the chassis is one of the most aesthetic bodies out there, and its performance is enough to rank among the best gaming laptops, too. The Zephyrus G14 is $1,999 for the RTX 4070 version with 32GB of memory, and the cheaper RTX 4060 model sits at a sweet spot of $1,600 (and we’ve already seen it go on sale for $1,450). Maybe the 2024 Razer Blade 14 will wow us, but for now, the 2024 ROG Zephyrus G14 blows away the 2023 Blade 14 in every way possible: battery life, portability, performance, and price. The Zephyrus G14’s 12 hour battery life is exceptional for any laptop, but if you need something that will last you 24 hours non-stop you should take a look at the MacBook Pro 14.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
