Reviews for the Asus TUF Gaming A14 FA401

Asus’ 14-inch gaming ambitions get TUF and I think it’s love at first sight — a solid mid-ranger that has more CPU power than the ROG Zephyrus G14, packs a keyboard and touchpad that feel just as good as its more expensive sibling, and makes strategic compromises to reduce cost that don’t make the laptop feel any less premium.

The Asus TUF Gaming A16 and A14 are my biggest surprises on the gaming laptop front. As someone who's used TUF laptops for years, seeing a far more aesthetically pleasing redesign is a real treat. And the A14 version, brand new to the series, is particularly impressive. Both have great specs, displays, keyboard and touchpads, and port selections as well, making them well-rounded gaming machines.

The ASUS TUF A14 and TUF A16 are solid refreshes of the brand’s A-series of gaming laptops, though I’m not entirely sure if the addition of AI will help the brand sell more of these units once they go on sale. No local pricing has been set for either laptop, but expect them to retail lower than the brand’s ROG offerings.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
