Powerful new mini-PC launches with 192 GB RAM, 10 GbE and Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495
FEVM has joined the ever-growing number of manufacturers to adopt AMD's Gorgon Halo platform. For context, HP plans to offer the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 inside a new ZBook Ultra. Shortly afterwards, Thunderobot confirmed that the same processor is coming to its new Station Series AI Workstation mini-PC.
Moreover, AceMagic, GMKtec and Minisforum are now selling the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 inside the F9A Pro 495, EVO-X5 Pro and the MS-S1 Max-P495, respectively. By contrast, FEVM has packaged AMD's Gorgon Halo inside a 1-litre housing. A CNC aluminium alloy build, the FAEX2 leans heavily on the Mac Pro's cheese grater design, rather than the squircle shape of the Mac Studio (curr. $2,449 on Amazon) that AceMagic and others have sought to emulate.
Despite its size, the FAEX2 also contains three M.2 2280 slots that support up to PCIe Gen 4 x4 drives. On top of that, FEVM has included 2.5 GbE RJ45, 10 GbE RJ45, 3.5 mm combo jack, DisplayPort 2.0, HDMI 2.1, SD card reader and dual USB Type-A ports. Furthermore, FEVM has found space for OCuLink and USB4 expansion.
Pricing starts at CNY 21,599 (~$3,219) in China with 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM and no storage to speak of. Alternatively, one can configure FEVM's mini-PC with up to 192 GB of RAM, of which 160 GB can be assigned as VRAM, for CNY 43,599 (~$6,497). Pricing and availability for other markets remain unknown for now.
