AMD Gorgon Halo-equipped GMKtec mini PC launches with 160GB VRAM support

Initially unveiled at IFA 2026, the GMKtec Evo-X5 Pro is now available to purchase. Unlike the Minsiforum MS-S1 Max-P495, the competitor, there are two configurations available, and the starting price is a little lower.

Specifically, the Evo-X5 Pro is being offered with 2TB and 4TB pre-installed storage, while both configurations come with 192GB of RAM. The starting price is $6,599, making it slightly less expensive than the MS-S1 Max-P495. As for the one with a 4TB SSD, it costs $6,899.

Among the core differences between the Evo-X5 Pro and Evo-X3 is the APU, with the former coming packing the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495. It's a top-end option from the Gorgon Halo series, and it brings the Radeon 8065S iGPU.

With 192GB of RAM support, this APU allows up to 160GB of unified memory to be allocated as VRAM, a notable jump over the 96GB limit of the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. The Gorgon Halo processor supports faster 8533MT/s RAM as well, and its Radeon 8065S iGPU has a slightly higher clock speed than the 8060S.

Other than these, not much is different than what the cheaper Evo-X3 brings to the table (128GB RAM and 2TB config curr. $3,799.98 on Amazon). Of course, the port configuration is different, with the Evo-X5 Pro having the following ports:

• 2x USB4
• 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
• 2x 10GbE
• 2x 3.5mm audio
• 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
• 1x HDMI 2.1

So, compared to the Evo-X3, there's no OCuLink port, but the USB4 V2 ports are new. The Evo-X5 Pro also has three M.2 slots instead of two, with the total storage capacity being 24TB. Wireless connectivity remains the same, with the newer mini PC featuring WIFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
