MWC 2025 | Popular laptop model for the first time has metal convertible variant: Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 starts with Intel Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake

Exactly 25 years ago, the ThinkPad T series entered the market - still as an IBM brand. One quarter-century later, Lenovo still manages to do things with the T series that have not been done before, as the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 is the first convertible version with tablet features. This model replaces the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 2-in-1. At the same time, Lenovo also updates the normal ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 with the newest Intel CPUs of the Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake series.
Lenovo ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1: Beefy metal convertible
Up until now, the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 had the exclusivity of the only 14-inch convertible of the ThinkPad brand, but now, the ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 exists. Overall, Lenovo basically enlarges the X13 2-in-1 (available from Amazon). In terms of the design, the T14s 2-in-1 is a mix of the regular T14s and the X13 - like the X13, it has a magnesium chassis, which feels hefty and robust. On the outside, the T14s 2-in-1 looks like a classical ThinkPad.
With 1.4 kg, the T14s 2-in-1 is no feather-weight. It will only be available with Intel Arrow Lake H and Intel Arrow Lake U with up to 64 GB soldered LPDDR5X RAM. The ThinkPad convertible offers a complete package in terms of the communication modules, with 5G/LTE, Wi-Fi 7, USB-A and HDMI and a 5 Mpix webcam. The battery capacity sits at 58 Wh. Lenovo stays with WUXGA IPS screens, which are always matte and which have up to 500 cd/m² brightness. The digitizer pen, traditionally a part of the ThinkPad convertibles, can be attached magnetically to the screen.
Only with Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake: T14s Gen 6 Intel enters market
The ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 is already available with Qualcomm Snapdragon CPUs and AMD Ryzen AI, but now it is also available with the newest Intel CPUs. Lenovo will offer Arrow Lake U, Arrow Lake H and Lunar Lake. The T14s Gen 6 receives an upgrade to its screen brightness to 500 cd/m² on most panels as well. Plus, the OLED screen now supports VRR. An important difference between Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake: Arrow Lake supports up to 64 GB RAM, Lunar Lake only 32 GB.
Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 Intel and Lenovo ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1: Pricing and availability
From April onwards, the T14s Gen 6 Intel will be available in June for €2,000, without sales tax. In June, cheaper models will follow that start at €1,500. The T14s 2-in-1 will enter the market in June for €1,650.
