Philips Hue's Go to sleep automation is rolling out to more smart lighting accessories. The tool has been available for a while, with the Sunset Go to sleep automation seen on the Twilight sleep and wake-up light launched earlier this year.
The feature can be triggered manually or automatically at sunset, changing the lighting color to warmer tones and gradually dimming the lights until they are off. A recent update for the Philips Hue iOS and Android apps, version 5.21, brought the feature to the Tap dial switch, Wall switch module, Tap switch and Friends of Hue switches. Now, an update for the Philips Hue Bridge, software version 1965111030, is said to have added support for the Philips Hue dimmer switch and the Philips Hue Smart Button.
You can trigger a Go to sleep automation by going to Settings > Accessories > select your switch > Button controls > Automations. The feature can be customized to your routine, with options to set a start time and fade duration. The bridge update also enhances the device's performance and reliability. If you have selected automatic updates for your Hue Bridge, you should receive the new firmware and this feature in the coming days.
