Orvibo has announced the Mixpad M5, a new smart home hub for Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The device features a four-channel switch control, allowing it to connect to hundreds of products simultaneously.
The Mixpad M5 is an all-in-one smart hub with a built-in speaker and connection to various music streaming services. The product has a touchscreen, which can be used to control connected devices like smart lights, curtains and air conditioners. Other features of the display include weather forecasts and alarms. The hub can be linked with the Orvibo, Apple Home or Google Home apps, and it has Amazon Alexa voice assistant built-in for voice commands. The hub integrates with Zigbee 3.0 gateways and is Matter compatible, meaning it will work with a wide range of smart home ecosystems.
The square hub measures 3.39 inches (~86 mm) on each side and can be mounted to the wall or stood on a surface. It is unclear how much the Orvibo Mixpad M5 will cost. While it has been announced for some countries in Asia and the Middle East, it has also appeared at a third-party retailer in Mexico, priced at $349. It is unclear whether or when the device will launch in other markets like the US. The company already sells products in this region, like the Smart Dimmer Switch with Touchscreen (curr. $79 at Amazon).
