Oppo's new iPad mini rival with flagship SoC, 144Hz AMOLED display goes global via import

Oppo launched the Pad Mini in China in April 2026, and at the launch event, the company positioned it as a competitor to the iPad mini. The company didn't share anything about a global release yet, but the compact flagship tablet is now available globally via import.
On Giztop, the Oppo Pad Mini is available for as low as $699, which is for the configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The top-end option with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is priced at $849.
For reference, Oppo launched the Pad Mini in China with a starting price of CNY 3,699, around $541. The top-end option goes for CNY 4,999, about $732. So, the prices on Giztop aren't half bad, but there are some caveats to consider.
To start with, the imported Oppo Pad Mini will ship with the Chinese version of ColorOS. There will be proper support for English, but this Chinese firmware is known for having notification issues, including missing alerts and delays. The aggressive battery management is the main reason, and the good news is that this issue can be solved with some tweaks.
Another thing to consider is the warranty. Even though Giztop appears to have proper policies about it, it won't be the same as the official warranty. Other than that, there's no need to worry about network bands, as this tablet doesn't have cellular features.
As for the tablet itself, the main highlight is the 8.8-inch AMOLED display, which keeps the form factor compact. It's a 144Hz panel with a 92.5% screen-to-body ratio, which makes the bezels on iPad mini seem very thick (128GB WiFi model with A17 Pro curr. $474 on Amazon). The flagship-grade Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 powers the internals, and it's backed by an 8,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.
