The Oppo Find X8 had the smallest generational battery upgrade of its family of premium Android smartphones in late 2024. Its successor might be able to avoid the same fate, according to a new tip. The X9 might also boast fast wireless charging and high-end build quality on its launch later this year.

The Find X9 is thought to inherit the 'medium-size' (or ~6.59-inch) form-factor of its direct predecessor, yet to have a higher-quality display with a more color-accurate Real RGB OLED panel and even thinner bezels thanks to the cutting-edge LIPO technology also supposedly destined for the competing Xiaomi 16 series.

Its screen might also be driven by the upgraded MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC and rock the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor heretofore exclusive to Oppo's current Find X8 Ultra flagship.

The X9 is also thought to boast the OEM's 50W wireless charging technology - although that feature was present in the X8 too. That device pairs the spec with a 5,630mAh battery, which looked like an impressive upgrade on its late 2024 debut, but got less so throughout 2025 in the face of breakthrough handsets such as the iQoo Z10 Turbo, OnePlus Ace 5 Pro and even the new, more mid-tier K13 Turbo from Oppo.

The X9 is now thoroughly backed to catch up with a similarly huge battery of its own, as capacities of 7,000mAh or more are now apparently standard for the Find X series, according to the knowledgeable leaker Digital Chat Station.

In other words, the vanilla Find X9 is now slated to launch with all the main advantages of its larger, possibly IP68/69-rated Pro sibling - except for the new 200MP telephoto camera, of course.
